12 Trial memberships available in 2012

In support of Wales' Golf Awareness initiative, the Club is making available a limited number of 3 month Trial Memberships starting any time in the first month of 2012 aimed at those new to the game, those who might wish to join as a member of a golf club and, indeed, those who already play the game (maybe with a Golf Club CONGU handicap).

•  For a Trial Membership fee of only £100 for those over age 30 (or a reduction for Young Adults depending upon their age)

Members can: 

• play on the course at any time, including Members’ times;
• play in Club Competitions, except the ‘Trophy’ competitions, once a current CONGU handicap is obtained.
•  invite and sign-in guests to the Clubhouse;
•  be eligible for a Members’ Discount Card which will entitle you to (presently 10%) discount on all bar purchases.

At the end of the Trial period, which cannot ordinarily be extended or renewed, the Member will be asked to decide whether or not to join the Club as a Full or Young Adult Member as appropriate.

Before embarking on the first round of golf under the scheme, participants will be expected to be able to demonstrate proof of their golfing ability.  This may be achieved either:

• By furnishing a handicap certificate from a recognised CONGU-affiliated golf club of which the applicant is, or might have been, a member, or a society handicap. Or
• By arranging with the Club PGA Professional, Darren Griffiths (01267 281588, option 2), to hit some golf balls under his supervision, at a mutually convenient time in advance of the intended first round on the course.

If you are a Beginner, Darren can arrange a program of 4 individual 'Taster' lessons for you for £60 whereupon you can decide whether you wish to pursue the game and, hopefully, Trial Membership.

Trial Membership is a great, low cost way of playing golf and seeing if you might like to join a top golf Club which itself offers outstanding value for money and a great welcome.
